Introduction:

Here at Summit Christian First Assembly of God we believe that God is real, that Jesus is our Lord and Savior and that the Holy Spirit is alive and working in every believer. We believe in a triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God's love is meant for every person.

We believe that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross that if one so chooses to put their faith in Jesus as Lord, repent of their sins and invite the Holy Spirit into their hearts, they become a new creation, born again in the spirit and welcomed eternally into God's family.

We believe in loving others as God himself loves. We believe that no matter where you come from, what you look like or what you have done, you are made in the image of God. You are loved beyond measure, you are welcomed in God’s house and His transforming love will meet you right where you’re at. Glory, honor and praise be to Jesus Christ forever and ever. Amen.

Our 16 Fundamental Truths:

THE INSPIRED SCRIPTURES
We believe the Scriptures are inspired by God and reveal His purpose and plan for humanity.

THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe there is only one true God, revealed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—commonly known as the Trinity.

THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the Son of God, Jesus was both fully human and fully divine.

THE FALL OF MAN
Although humanity was created good, people chose to sin. Through this choice, evil and death—both physical and spiritual—entered the world.

THE SALVATION OF MAN
We believe that every person can be restored to fellowship with God through salvation by trusting in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior through faith and repentance.

THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH
We believe in and practice two ordinances:
  • Water Baptism by Immersion, following repentance and acceptance of Christ’s gift of salvation.
  • Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper), which symbolizes and remembers Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.
THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience that follows salvation and empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

THE INITIAL EVIDENCE OF THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and described throughout the book of Acts and the Epistles.

SANCTIFICATION
Sanctification begins at salvation. It is both the declaration that a believer is holy and a lifelong process of growing in holiness as believers separate from evil and become more like Christ.

THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION
The mission of the Church is to seek and save those who are lost in sin. We believe the Church is the Body of Christ and includes all people throughout history who have accepted God’s offer of redemption through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ, regardless of denomination.

THE MINISTRY
God calls and appoints leaders to serve the Church according to Scripture. The Bible teaches that each believer, under leadership, should commit to reaching others for Christ, worshiping with fellow believers, building up the body of Christ, and serving human needs with love and compassion.

DIVINE HEALING
We believe divine healing is available for believers today and is provided through Christ’s atonement—His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins.

THE BLESSED HOPE
The Blessed Hope is the rapture of the Church, when Jesus will take His followers to be with Him before His return to the earth. At that time, believers who have died will rise from their graves, and those who are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air and be with Him forever.

THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST
We believe Christ will return with His saints at His second coming and will rule over the earth for 1,000 years. During this time there will be the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of worldwide peace.

THE FINAL JUDGMENT
Those who reject Christ will face a final judgment. They will be judged for their sins and sentenced to eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH
We look forward to the new heavens and the new earth that Christ is preparing for all who have accepted Him. After His millennial reign, believers will live with Him there forever. As Scripture says, “And so we will be with the Lord forever.”
